MEMBERSHIP & ANNUAL SUPPORTER TERMS AND CONDITIONS

These Terms and Conditions apply to all members and Annual Supporters of Wingspan National Bird of Prey Centre (“Wingspan”, “we”, “us” or “our”). By purchasing a membership or making a qualifying Annual Supporter donation, you agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions, as well as Wingspan’s other applicable policies, rules and conditions of entry. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits or excludes any rights or remedies that visitors have or duties or liabilities Wingspan has under New Zealand law.   

1. GENERAL

a. Memberships and Annual Supporter contributions help support the ongoing care, conservation, education and operation of Wingspan National Bird of Prey Centre.
b. Membership fees are in NZD and are GST inclusive. Annual Supporter contributions are donations and tax deductible within New Zealand.
c. Membership fees and Annual Supporter donations are non-refundable.
d. Memberships are personal and non-transferable.
e. Membership benefits cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred to another person.
f. Membership benefits are subject to these terms and conditions and may be amended from time to time. Any significant changes will be communicated to members.
g. Wingspan reserves the right to refuse or withdraw membership where it considers that membership has been misused or any of Wingspan’s Terms and Conditions have been breached.

2. INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIPS
a. An Individual Membership provides membership benefits to one named person.
b. Wingspan reserves the right to request to see photo identification.
c. Individual Memberships are valid for 12 months from the date of commencement. Where a membership is renewed before its expiry date, the renewed membership will commence from the existing expiry date, and the new expiry date will be 12 months from that date.
d. Individual Memberships provide the member with:

 i. Free general admission to Wingspan;
 ii. A digital copy of Wingspan’s journal, provided that the membership is current at the time of publication;
iii. A membership badge for new members, available for collection on their first visit to Wingspan; and
iv. 20% off eligible Meet & Greet experiences.

e. The free admission benefit applies to the named member only and does not include admission for accompanying guests. 

3. FAMILY MEMBERSHIPS
a. A Family Membership provides membership benefits to all members of one household.
b. For the purposes of a Family Membership, a household means people who ordinarily reside together at the same residential address.
c. Wingspan reserves the right to request proof of address and photo identification.
d. Family Memberships are valid for 12 months from the date of commencement. Where a membership is renewed before its expiry date, the renewed membership will commence from the existing expiry date, and the new expiry date will be 12 months from that date.
e. Family Memberships provide eligible household members with:

i. Free general admission to Wingspan;
ii. A digital copy of Wingspan’s journal, provided that the membership is current at the time of publication;
iii. A membership badge for new members, available for collection on their first visit to Wingspan; and
iv. 20% off eligible Meet & Greet experiences.

f. Only one digital copy of the annual journal and one badge is provided per Family Membership, regardless of the number of people included in the membership.
g. Family Membership benefits are limited to members of the registered household and cannot be extended to friends, relatives or other guests who do not ordinarily reside at that address.

4. LIFE MEMBERSHIPS
a. A Life Membership provides membership benefits to one named person for the duration of their lifetime.
b. Wingspan reserves the right to request to see photo identification.
c. Life Membership provides the member with:

i. Free general admission to Wingspan;
ii. One digital copy of Wingspan’s annual journal for each year in which the member is eligible to receive the journal;
iii. A membership badge, available for collection on their first visit to Wingspan; and
iv. 20% off eligible Meet & Greet experiences.

d. Life Membership is personal and cannot be transferred to another person.

5. ANNUAL SUPPORTERS
a. An Annual Supporter is a person who donates NZ$50 or more to Wingspan within a 12-month period.
b. Annual Supporter status is separate from membership and does not provide free admission or other membership benefits.
c. As an acknowledgment of their support, Annual Supporters will receive a digital copy of Wingspan’s journal.
d. Annual Supporter acknowledgement is valid for the 12-month period to which the qualifying donation relates.
e. Donations are voluntary contributions and are not considered payment for admission, membership or other goods or services.

6. JOURNAL
a. Wingspan’s journal is published once each year.
b. Members whose membership is current at the time of publication will receive one digital copy of the journal for that year.
c. Individual and Life Members will receive one digital copy per eligible membership year.
d. Family Memberships are entitled to one digital copy per eligible membership year, regardless of the number of people included in the Family Membership.
e. Annual Supporters whose qualifying support falls within the relevant annual supporter period will receive one digital copy of the journal as an acknowledgement of their support.
f. The journal will be provided digitally using the contact details supplied by the member or Annual Supporter.
g. Members and Annual Supporters are responsible for ensuring that Wingspan has their current email address or other required contact details.

7. MEET & GREET DISCOUNT
a. Members are entitled to a 20% discount on the total cost of an eligible Meet & Greet experience.
b. The discount applies to the member’s own eligible Meet & Greet experience and cannot be transferred to another person.
c. The discount cannot be used in conjunction with another discount or promotional offer unless otherwise stated.
d. Meet & Greet experiences are subject to availability and may be affected by staff availability, bird welfare, bird behaviour and other operational considerations.
e. Wingspan reserves the right to exclude specific experiences from the membership discount.

8. CONTACT DETAILS AND COMMUNICATIONS
a. Members and Annual Supporters are responsible for providing accurate and current contact details.
b. Wingspan may use these details to provide membership benefits, deliver the digital journal, communicate membership information and acknowledge ongoing support.
c. Members and Annual Supporters should notify Wingspan of any changes to their contact details to ensure that benefits and communications can be provided.

9. ADMISSION AND OPERATIONS
a. Free admission for members is subject to Wingspan’s normal opening hours and any temporary closures or restrictions.
b. Admission does not guarantee access to any specific bird, display, show or experience. Displays and experiences may vary according to bird welfare, weather, bird behaviour, operational requirements and other circumstances.    c. Wingspan prioritises the welfare of its birds and may alter, postpone or cancel activities where necessary to protect bird welfare.
