Tours & School Visits

There are classrooms, and then there's this.

A Wingspan school visit puts students face to face with New Zealand's most extraordinary birds of prey - the kārearea falcon, the ruru morepork, the swamp harrier - guided by the country's leading raptor experts. It's hands-on, curriculum-linked, and genuinely unforgettable.

Why Bring Your Class to Wingspan?

Wingspan is New Zealand's largest dedicated bird of prey centre and the country's leading raptor conservation organisation. A visit here isn't just a fun day out, it's a living classroom. Students come away with a genuine understanding of native species, conservation challenges, and the science behind protecting New Zealand's natural heritage.

  • Real birds, real experts, real conservation, not a screen or a worksheet in sight
  • Curriculum links across science, environmental education, and social studies
  • Suitable for Year 1 through to Year 13
  • Small and large groups welcomed
  • Home school groups warmly invited, please enquire for rates
